Broccoli Cheddar Quiche

Ingredients:

  • 1 premade (or homemade) pie crust, at room temperature

  • 2 cups broccoli, chopped (stalks removed)

  • 1 cup extra sharp cheddar cheese, freshly grated

  • 5 eggs

  • 3/4 cup whole milk

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Red pepper flakes (optional)


Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.

  2. Mold the pie crust into a pie dish, fluting the edges as desired.

  3. In a large sauté pan, add 1 cup of water and the broccoli. Cover and steam for 5-7 minutes, until the broccoli is softened. Drain and set aside.

  4. Spread the broccoli evenly over the pie crust. Sprinkle the freshly grated cheddar cheese on top.

  5. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour the mixture evenly over the broccoli and cheese.

  6. Sprinkle red pepper flakes, extra salt, and cracked black pepper on top, if desired.

  7. Bake for 45 minutes, or until the quiche is set and lightly golden.

  8. Allow the quiche to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
